Air fascinates, is essentially invisible. Suspended particles float rarely visible in raking light. The weather vane in open air fluctuates, spins, responding to the wind direction. The windsock takes shape in the current of fluid air. We ourselves cause turbulence, create eddies, whirls of flow as we move through our world.

Like a wind rose, Aeolia plot speed and direction across time. Working with what IS, with what exists in the here and now. The artist sets the pen on the paper stage and the wind does the rest, drawing the invisible energy in air. The elements ARE. 

A single line is suspended from above and becomes the center – a balance beam with a sail opposite a ‘pendulum’, a few counter weights, rubber thread and a swivel. The variables are multiple, the drawing is different every day. Recognizing the magnificence of the energy of wind and sun, the artist acts in silent wonder to manifest that which is invisible.
